“Damn the sun,” says DANSPED & The Carpool to Oblivion in the new song “Stragulum Griseo.”
“Stragulum Griseo”, the new song by DANSPED & The Carpool to Oblivion, is dark and morose, but ultimately a product of Dansped’s sometimes misunderstood humor. “I mean, it’s a joke, I don’t hate sunny days,” says Dansped, “but I welcome gray overcast days. They are relaxing and undemanding, wonderful really.”
The gloomy tone of the song makes it a perfect pair for fall, but it was originally written as a summer anti-anthem. Dansped adds, “if you are sad or feeling macabre you can easily miss the humor and vibe on the somber mood it creates.”
The official release date is September 22, at 9:03pm. "Stragulum Griseo" will be available on Bandcamp and all streaming services.

DANSPED & THE CARPOOL TO OBLIVION
The ironically named solo project of long-time Jersey Shore music scene songwriter Dansped echos the influence of Dave Van Ronk, Wilco, and Hamel on Trial.
“I am looking to create something that is tragically comic and hauntingly beautiful in Carpool,” says Dansped. “I’m not sure I’ve achieved that goal, but I intend to keep trying.”
He has shared the stage with great artists like TM Stevens (James Brown, Steve Vai, Tina Turner), Black Beetle (Joan Wasser and Jeff Buckley guitarist Michael Tighe) and Jon Caspi & the First Gun Ft. Dez Cadena (Black Flag). Dansped has written and performed with The Cosmic Kiwis, Rebel Pawn, and No Venom Radio, and collaborated with members of The Cryptkeeper Five, Louis XIV, and The Graveyard School
When not writing, recording, and self-producing music, Dansped enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter while inviting rescue animals to live in his vegan home.
